What you have, who decides and what to do first.

Wealth and family diagnosis

Before planning anything, you have to know what there is. The diagnosis is a family’s first engagement with us: limited in scope, with a deadline and a document at the end.

We gather what you have, put it in order in writing and give you back a roadmap with the order of work. From there, the family decides whether to continue with us.

Type of engagement
Fixed-scope project
Indicative timing
Usually four to six weeks from the day you hand us the documents.
Fees
In writing, before we start
Who provides and signs
Pearson Specter, with the specialists from our associate firms that the engagement requires. If the diagnosis calls for a legal document, a qualified lawyer drafts and signs it.

When it is needed

  • You have never had a complete view of what the family owns
  • You have just inherited, sold a company or received a major transaction
  • You are about to change residence, institutions or advisers
  • There are assets or companies that no one else in the family knows about

Why it matters

I

A starting point

All the wealth and the family, in a single document.

II

A fixed-scope engagement

Scope, timetable and deliverables set before we begin.

III

No commitment to continue

At the end, the family decides what to do with the plan.

What is included
  • An inventory of assets, companies, accounts and obligations
  • A family map: who is who and who decides
  • A risk sheet: tax, succession, structure and liquidity
  • A 12–24 month roadmap, with the order of work
  • A feedback meeting with the family
What is not included
  • Carrying out the plan’s measures (gifts, wills, deeds): these are separate engagements
  • Recommending investment products or managing your money
  • Drafting legal documents: these are drafted and signed by a qualified lawyer
Who it is for

Frequently asked questions
Does the whole family have to come?

For the first meeting, whoever makes the decisions is enough; the feedback meeting is with the whole family.

What about what I have outside Spain?

It goes into the inventory and into the calendar of obligations in each country.

Do I have to continue with you afterwards?

No. The diagnosis is a fixed-scope engagement: with it in hand, you decide whether to continue and with whom.

How are fees set?

In writing and before we start, with the scope and the timetable. It is a fixed-scope engagement.

“First, know what there is. Then, decide what to do with it.”
